A word from those who have been helped by Shelley

In Shelley’s words

At the heart of recovery coaching is relationship - authentic, respectful, and rooted in hope. Whether I’m supporting someone in their personal recovery or walking alongside a coach in supervision, my role is to listen deeply, reflect honestly, and hold space for growth.

Coaching isn’t about fixing; it’s about witnessing. It’s about holding belief when someone’s not quite ready to believe in themselves. Supervision builds on that same foundation, offering a space for recovery coaches to sharpen their skills, reconnect with purpose, and stay grounded in what matters most: values, voice, and integrity.

The testimonials below reflect the power of showing up fully - for ourselves and for each other.

The fact that you are reading this review shows me that you are curious to know about Shelley. Let me start by saying that she is a beautiful person with joy that makes you wonder where is my joy. And, she is amazing enough to get you to your joy, given you are courageous enough to believe that you deserve it. She is as effective as you putting in the work. I’d recommend her to anyone who really wants a/to change and is seeking a caring and encouraging coach.

I met Shelley Shadow in February of 2024 in White Rock, BC where I attended the Recovery Coach Academy portion of my training hosted by her and her husband, Kevin Diakiw, the driving forces behind Still-Here Recovery Coaching and Coach Training. The experiences I’ve enjoyed with Still-Here since then have been life changing. I’ve recently completed a series of “one on one” supervised mentorship sessions with Shelley. Although I’d gotten to know her, I hadn’t had the opportunity to benefit from the beautifully patient and compassionate style with which she communicates on a personal level. I can honestly say that she helped me tap into my personal strengths & style. I am much better for it!

Working with Shelley resulted in a Win-Win situation in every aspect and in every corner. Her ability to deliver sound knowledge and expert advise in a Supervisory role is one I greatly commend. She provides an exceptional level of comfort and professionally suited guidance every step of the way. I would strongly encourage anyone looking to hone their recovery coaching to look no further than Shelley Shadow

A commitment to myself before taking the Still Here training was that I would follow through in starting a business so I can help more people with this transformative approach. Having always worked for others, this was an endeavor that intimidated me, and I did not know where to start. Ringing in my ears was what I heard in the Recovery Coach Training 5-day workshop ‘Every good coach has a good coach.’ I reached out to Shelley to coach me. I am so glad I did - she made the process feel so much less daunting! Right away she helped move me to into action, helping me establish my business vision and market myself. I now see even more the value of a coach! Being able to walk through my fears with support, step by step and with accountability was invaluable. Shelley was fantastic; her vast skills including clinical wisdom, professionalism, business savvy, and of course her supportive mentorship has had a meaningful effect on my growth and my new business.
